New Outback Music Festival Is Born

Over 250 people witnessed Far North Queensland’s newest festival, the OUTBACK COUNTRY ROCK AND BLUES at Undara Experience in the Gulf Savannah.

A brilliant line up of Australian and Internationally acclaimed artists from all over the country virtually played non-stop under the sails of the Fettler’s Iron Pot Bistro.

Multi-award winning Country, Blues guitarists Ross Williams, Michael O’Rourke and Michael Fix mixed it up with the high-octane Rock/Blues bands the Hipshooters and Tease in a Jam session that lasted 3 days.

Country music favourites The Wolverines made an appearance later in the night kick starting the festival feel on Saturday night.

Undara Experience is developing a reputation as the Outback Event Specialists, never compromising on music quality and presentation.

Events, such as the annual Opera in the Outback, held in October and developed by the Collins family attract a broader market to the region, while providing an exceptional live performance event for the regional communities of the Gulf Savannah.

‘We want to use high quality events as an early springboard into the tourist season, and to create amazing events in an incredible outback location.’

A spectacular line up of Country, Rock and Blues artists are making their way to the first ever Undara Experience. It’s got the bush telegraph buzzing with excitement.

For six years Undara Experience has created events as a way of generating excitement in the bush and bringing world class entertainment to the region. In the slower times of the year it generates economic benefit to the businesses and communities of the Gulf Savannah region and increases visitors to the top end of Queensland’s Outback.

‘We are mixing it up again at Undara Experience, with an amazing line up of artists providing rockin’ music in the bush. Get your boots on, grab that old bush hat and head out for some great fun at one of the region’s most unique live music venues’ General Manager of the Undara Experience Complex Bram Collins said.

This first time event has secured some top guns in the country music industry. The Wolverines head the list as the major act. Since forming in 1994 the Wolverines have introduced audiences all around Australia and New Zealand to their unique blend of tongue-in-cheek humour, hard-hitting, rock-your-sox-off Wolverines Music as well as the gentle art of having a bloody fantastic time! They provide a range of music, from kick-ass Texan Boogie through to soft, bluesy ballads, not to mention their treatment of some of the best-known retro-classics.

The Hipshooters: New Zealand Rock Blues Band - Well known on Australian and International Blues festival circuits – Multi Award winning band and International hit makers.

Michael O'Rourke: Australian Contemporary Country Singer/Songwriter. 2007 Golden Guitar Finalist for Best Male Artist and Best Heritage Single - Multi Award Winner - Recording Artist - Top 5 hit singles.
